On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, the Senate Banking Committee’s Housing, Transportation, and Community Development Subcommittee will hold a hearing entitled “Rural Housing Legislation.” The hearing is scheduled for 2:45 p.m., Eastern and can be streamed live here.
The hearing with focus on legislation expected to be introduced by Senators Tina Smith (D-MN) and Mike Rounds (R-SD) that is intended to improve several USDA rural housing programs.
CARH President and Vice President of PK Companies, Chris Potterpin, and President of Syringa Property Management and longtime CARH member, Dianne Hunt will testify. Additional witnesses scheduled to testify are:
- Natalie N. Maxwell, Managing Attorney – National Housing Law Project
- David Lipsetz, President and CEO – Housing Assistance Council
- Anne Mavity, Executive Director – Minnesota Housing Partnership
