Section 538 Guarantee Fee Forum

BROADCAST EMAIL – Regulatory Update

Attendees at CARH’s recent Midyear Meeting learned from agency officials during the “One-on-One with the Regulators” session that Rural Development (RD) planned to hold a forum with stakeholders to discuss the changes to the Section 538 Guaranteed Rural Rental Housing Program’s Initial and Annual Guarantee fees (see Final Rule published December 3, 2020, in the Federal Register).

Today, RD announced that the forum would be held on February 18, 2021, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., EST. RD is encouraging Section 538 lenders and borrowers to provide input on the impact the change to the fee structure will have on the overall program.

Please note, due to the sensitivity of the discussion, RD has required participants to pre-register for the forum by emailing Tammy Daniels, tammy.daniels@usda.gov, by 5:00 p.m. (EST) on Friday, February 12, 2021. Upon receipt of your registration request, you will be emailed the link to gain access to the forum. RD will be using the Microsoft Teams platform to conduct the forum.
